Outdoor Club: Skiing
GOC
is not in the business of providing regular downhill skiing weekends
in resorts, but there are skiing trips advertised from time to time
and members often get together to plan their own trips, so it is
always worth keeping an ear to the ground or using the free adverts
in the Outdoors magazine as a way of advertising a private trip
you may be thinking of organising. GOC does not, of course, take
any responsibility over private trips.
Cross-country skiing is more within the general remit of GOCs
activities and it is worth watching both the Mountaineering Groups
programme (which often includes a cross-country trip in Scotland
in February or March) and the Highland Groups listings. Because
of the uncertainty of the Scottish winter, advertised trips may
in the end have to become hillwalking trips, but it is just as likely
that a trip advertised as a hillwalking one might end up including
skiing at short notice because of the onset of the right conditions.

Local Group contact or the Mountaineering national co-ordinator
