Gay Outdoor Club: Swimming

Swimming might be described as one of the core activities of GOC, although in the main GOC swimmers are members of local groups who simply enjoy adding swimming to their outdoor activities. It is organised on a regional basis without national co-ordination and swimming meets are not normally competitive events: those who wish to enter swimming competitions should watch out for one-off notices here or in the Newsletter. A more competitive level of swimming is offered by specialist gay groups such as Out to Swim, but there is every possibility for competitions to be organised within GOC if there is demand for them. There are no less than eight locations where swimming is offered.
