Outdoor Club the club for you?
* Has over thirty local groups
throughout the United Kingdom, with a basis in local walking
and socialising, and makes trips abroad too. Other locally organised
activities include cycling, swimming and badminton.
* Operates specialist groups as well (e.g. caving,
climbing, cycling, mountaineering and others)
* With over 1500 members is the largest sports and social group
for gay, lesbian and bisexual people in the UK
* Provides
up to one hundred meets per month nation-wide and overseas
* Distributes a monthly magazine Outdoors to its members, listing
events around the country
* Covers
a wide age-range from eighteen upwards
* Hosts
everything from social gatherings to serious sports activities
*Provides the opportunity to join organised weekends at Youth Hostels
as part of the Club's Corporate Membership of the YHA (so you don't
need to be an individual member of the YHA).
*Members can benefit from the reciprocal arrangements with Cycleout,
Goslings (and some other similar clubs) by being able to attend
their events without needing to join separately.
* Offers
the opportunity to represent the Club at national or international
events such as the Gay Games.
* Puts
on an Annual National Gathering attended by members from all over
the country. In 2008, it will be held in Worcester on 1-4 August.
* Members may be reassured that the Club has third party insurance
cover for the events it runs.
* Members
qualify for a 15% discount from the retailer "Cotswold Outdoor".
* Has been in existence since 1974!
