In most cases it will be advisable for anyone
wishing to attend any of these events to contact someone here
before travelling, as some of the details may be changed.
Thanks are due to the people who have offered to co-ordinate
these events.
Sunday 13 January. Meet at the bank top car park, Runswick
Bay for a varied circular walk of 6 miles, including a coastal
section of the Cleveland Way and a delightful wooded valley.
Good footwear recommended; possibility of slippery rocks on
the coast. Bring a packed lunch.
Saturday 26 January. Winter meal out at The Old Yard Tapas
Bar, 98 Bondgate, Darlington. Please confirm your booking
with co-ordinator no later than the walk on 13 January. You

17 February.
A shortish winter walk with excellent views of upper Teesdale.
Meet at in the centre of Romaldkirk village near Barnard Castle.
Teashop option available at the end of the walk.
Sunday
16 March. Wensleydale railway walk. Meet at Leeming Bar
Station North Yorkshire to catch the train to Redmire for
a 6 mile walk to Leyburn for a teashop stop before returning
on the train back to Leeming Bar.
Sunday
13 April. 8 mile circular walk on Cockfield Fell. Meet
at The Slack Visitor Centre on the B6282 near Butterknowle.
Sunday
18 May. Meet at Broom Park picnic area west of Durham
City for a 12 mile circular walk exploring the Deerness and
Browney Valleys; bring packed lunch. Tea available 1.5 miles
before the end of the walk.
Sunday
22 June. Durham coastal walk. Meet at Hartlepool station
for the train to Seaham. For a 10 mile walk back to Hartlepool.

13 July. Meet at the fountain in Middleton in Teesdale
for a 10 mile circular walk.

17 August. Meet at Edmondbyers Village Co. Durham for
a circular walk.
Sunday
21 September. Meet at the village of Fangdale Beck on
B1257 North Yorkshire Moors for a 9.5 mile walk
Sunday
12 October. Meet at the National Trust car park, Allen
Banks, Northumberland, for a riverside and valley circular
walk featuring a dodgy bridge and maybe some red squirrels.
Trains from Newcastle or Carlisle can be met if required.
Please let co-ordinator Ivor know. It may be a little muddy
in parts. The length of walk can be varied according to the
weather. Please bring a packed lunch.
Sunday 16 November. Meet at Haltwhistle station for
an 8 to 10 mile walk over Plenmeller Common to the south of
Haltwhistle. The route will be altered to a river walk if
the weather is poor. Please bring a packed lunch.
