Saturday 17 May. Cumbria. Three Counties Cycle Ride. Pack your lunch in your lycra for a 30 mile moderate cicular ride, starting in Kirkby Lonsdale and going through Over Kellet, Gressingham and Wray (Lancashire) to Low Bentham (North Yorkshire) and back to Kirkby Lonsdale. Meet at the Tourist Information Centre in Kirkby Lonsdale. We will postpone this ride if heavy rain is forecast so PLEASE PHONE the co-ordinators, the evening before to confirm arrangements.

Sunday 1 June. Yorkshire Dales. A hilly cycle ride of about 35 miles. Contact co-ordinator for start details.

Friday 13 - Sunday 15 June. Nottinghamshire. Weekend walking and cycling in Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park. Camp or stay at the Redbrick House Hotel, Peafield Lane, Mansfield Woodhouse, Notts. NG20 0EW, tel 01623 846499. This is a very popular area. Please book in advance directly with the hotel. If camping, please say you are part of John's party to get adjacent pitches. No deposit is required; the cost is £7.50pppn. The camp site is at the back of the hotel. There will be options for road cycling, off-road cycling and walking.

Saturday 14 June. Sherwood Forest off-road bike ride, about 30 miles on good bridleways and trails. Start from Cresswell Crags Visitor Centre car park. Lunch at Clumber Park (bring your own). Finish before 5pm. This is an easy ride mostly levelish and is in conjunction with the Transpennine Mansfield camping weekend (see above) but day visitors are welcome.

Sunday 13 July. Lancashire. Cycling in the Ribble Valley. A 40 mile spin through the villages around Pendle including a close encounter with the witches. For start details contact co-ordinator

Sunday 24 August. Cycling on the Fylde Coast. A 45 mile spin through the leafy villages of the Fylde up to Knott End and across to Fleetwood via the ferry. Then along the full length of the Fylde coast including Cleveleys, the Golden Mile, St. Annes, Fairhaven and Lytham to the Ribble estuary. Refreshments afterwards. Sunday 31 August. Yorkshire / Lancashire. A moderate 25 mile circular cycle ride from Settle through Gisburn Forest and Bolton-by-Bowland. Bring a packed lunch. Meet (fully clothed!) at the Naked Man Cafe in Settle Market Place . PLEASE PHONE the evening before this ride to confirm arrangements. We will postpone the ride if heavy rain is forecast.

Saturday 13 September. West Yorkshire / Lancashire. A tough 35 mile cycle ride over the Forest of Trawden. Ring co-ordinator for meeting details.
